2008 Frank Ski Kids Foundation Local Legend Luncheon*** _____Video from the 2008 Local Legend_________________ ***Get the Flash Player to see this player. Hosted by Tanya Ski, Local Legend Tionne Watkins (aka T-Boz from TLC) as well as Judge Penny Reynolds Brown of Family Court with Judge Penny will be the guests of honor. They will give insight to six bright high school girls on what it takes to continue their high school education by applying to the university of their choice. Both T-Boz and Judge Penny will script letters of recommendation for the girls to add to their college applications, helping them in their pursuit of higher education despite Clayton County School District’s tumultuous accreditation situation. Certificates of recognition for achievement will be awarded to the six chosen girls to help toward their college application , and T-Boz and Judge Penny will receive “Frank Ski Kids Foundation Local Legend Awards” for everything they do for the community. Congratulations to the six chosen students from Clayton County: Meghan Jackson, Senior, Morrow High School Songsarae Harley, Senior, Forest Park High (now attending Albany State Univiersity for Nursing) Kelita Almond, Senior, Riverdale High (now attending Georgia State Univiersity for psychology) Jamesha Foote, Senior, Riverdale High Tyler Jones, Senior, Mount Zion High Maritza Morales, Senior, Mount Zion High ****A fabulous lunch will be prepared and served by FLEMING'S Restaurant****. Along with Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopez, TLC was one of the most successful girl groups in history, selling over 45 million records worldwide. As a child, T-Boz was diagnosed with sickle-cell anemia and is currently one of the spokespeople for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America. T-Boz is also the owner of a children’s boutique, an author and an actress, and her latest endeavors include a solo album and working under Donald Trump as part of the cast of The Celebrity Apprentice 2 (premiering January 2009). About Judge Penny Reynolds Brown Bringing an authentic new voice to daytime television, and an inspiring new perspective to the court show genre, the honorable Penny Brown Reynolds, draws on her legal and personal background while presiding over Family Court with Judge Penny…She is known to counsel people to do better in life, for themselves and their families…Deeply committed to her community and her profession, Judge Penny serves on the Board of Directors for the International Women’s Forum and on the Executive Board of the NAACP’s Atlanta Chapter and The International Family Center, Inc.
