Planet Green: The Eco Experience of A Lifetime Planet Green: The Eco Experience of a Lifetime 2007Atlanta Area School Kids Make U.S. History The Frank Ski Kids Foundation; keeping in line with our mission statement, "Exposing Kids To Their Future", envisioned an idea to take a group of U.S. school kids to the Charles Darwin Research Station and the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador. This contest created set a precedent in the United States - it's the first time in U.S. history that a group of school kids traveled to the Charles Darwin Research Station in the Galapagos Islands for a science excursion. Hundreds of kids ages 13 to 15 entered a contest titled "Planet Green: The Eco Experience of a Lifetime". Topic: "If You Were President of the United States, What Would You Do to Help Conserve Energy, Preserve Nature and the Environment for Future Generations?" 20 Kids were chosen to deliver essays in speech form at the Georgia Aquarium, 11 winners were awarded the opportunity to travel, all expenses paid, with the Frank Ski Kids Foundation to the Charles Darwin Research Station in the Galapagos Islands, the worlds best conserved oceanic and tropical archipelago, July 26 - August 2, 2007.
