Departure Day:

On Sunday, June 6rd, the Frank Ski Kids Foundation departed with six Atlanta area school students on our International Art Excursion to Rome, Italy. The flight from Atlanta was nine hours long, but I believe the kids enjoyed it, despite the turbulence. Lol!

I am the science teacher of Naomi Niwano, one of your five talented winners. I persuaded her to enter the contest even though I did not get the information to her until a week befor the deadline. She didn't even think she would be able to complete the project. I am so very proud of her. More

Success for Frank Ski Kids Foundation

This is truly what the Frank Ski Kids Foundation is all about. The following email is from one of our students your donations help support, Miss Elizabeth Oppong.
She spoke at last year's wine tasting about her experience in the Galapagos Islands with the Frank Ski Kids Foundation.
Elizabeth was also awarded a full scholarship to Phillips Academy Andover, a co-educational boarding high school in Massachusetts.
Thank you for helping us "expose her to her future ".

Hello Mr. Frank Ski,

I hope this email finds you and your family doing well. I just got back from China a few weeks ago. I was there for five weeks studying Chinese…
In addition, I was able to hike the Great Wall, travel to some Buddhist temples, and eat dinner twice a week with a Chinese family. We stayed in small villages, and we were fortunate to experience the many minority groups there and their distinct cultures…
I really thank you again for providing me the opportunity to travel to the Galapagos because if it were not for that trip, I do not think I would have the same passion for traveling the world and experiencing new cultures.
Years after my Galapagos trip, I still use and remember what I learned and experienced. So now when opportunities like China present themselves to me, I am always open and eager to try them out.
It still amazes me how these trips reinforce what I learn in school. They make me appreciate what I am studying and give me hope that one day in the future I can travel to those places and elicit the change that we really need in this world.
Every single day I am thankful to you and your foundation for lighting the way for me.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Oppong

Elizabeth,

I am so very proud of you, and I know Tanya, Fashion and JeNika are as well.
I still remember seeing you sitting on the boat reading a book while all the other kids were snorkeling. I asked you why you didn't go. Your answer was that you didn't think your mom and dad would approve. I told you then, "I'm sure they would, otherwise you wouldn't be here". Now look at you! China!
We continue to expect great things from you. Please update me more often. And if you ever need anything, even if its just an ear to listen, don't hesitate to call on us.

Sincerely Proud,

Frank Ski
