YOUTH BOWL SYNOPSIS:

The Frank Ski Kids Foundation in part with Legacy Communities PRESENTS: The Frank Ski Kids Foundation Youth Bowl.

In December, the foundation hosts Youth Bowl, Atlanta’s ultimate youth football competition. The event is held at a local venue and features four of Metro Atlanta’s premiere football teams battling for their share of over $20,000 in grants and prizes.

This is only competition of its kind in the southeast region. Thousands of kids practice and play with determination throughout their park/recreation program season to qualify for the opportunity to be selected as one of the four teams advancing to the Frank Ski Kids Foundation Annual Youth Bowl. In order to be considered, a team must meet the age-weight requirements set, win its respective league championship and only experienced one loss during its regular season. After all qualifying teams are examined, the selection is narrowed to four. Those four advance and challenge each other in the playoffs. Two teams are eliminated and the remaining two advance and headline the championship game.

A well-organized effort in its own right, players are provided with an opportunity to compete with players of the same age and size to reduce risk and injury. Each annual bowl educates football players and cheerleaders alike in the areas of discipline, leadership and skill. After the experience, the participants truly appreciate their accomplishments as a team and not as individuals. Teamwork is rewarded and celebrated guaranteeing the reinforcement our youth both need and deserve.

Thanks to its popularity, our wonderful sponsors and supporters, the Frank Ski Kids Foundation Youth Bowl continues to grow in numbers each year. Youth Bowl provides vital financial support to parks and recreation programs serving children throughout the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Participation in these programs provides valuable life and social skill development.

Radio star Frank Ski of V103-FM (Atlanta) and his Frank Ski Kids Foundation host YOUTH BOWL V, the ultimate championship competition where Georgia’s inner-city, youth league football programs and community leagues compete for grants and prizes.

Youth Bowl Championship Game - December 13, 2008 at 3pm

PHOTO OPP: Award-winning veteran radio host, disc jockey, recording artist (classic hip hop hit Doo Doo Brown), actor and humanitarian, Frank Ski (of the #1 urban morning show in Atlanta, the Frank and Wanda In The Morning Show) along with wife, Tanya, will award $10,000 for the Winner; Runner ups receive $5,000 and (2) $2,500 in grants. All teams who played in the Youth Bowl play-offs will be present at the championship award ceremony immediately following the December 13th championship game----120 kids ages 12-14.


$5.00 Game day tickets will be available at the stadium; kids 5 and under are free. Parking is $2.
